When the dragons invaded Anathra from another world, they brought thousands of slaves with them, and these slaves brought their gods. Elves, humans, orcs, and their various offspring served their masters as soldiers, courtiers, messengers, and artisans. 
The worship of dozens of gods came with these slaves, but two hundred thousand years on Anathra has reduced the number of ausranic gods to seven.
Devotion to these seven is often combined with worship of other gods of Anathra.
