Elves
The emotionally distant elves have a reputation for being aloof and cold, though the truth is they feel emotions deeper than any other mortal. With origins potentially from other planes, they are as raw and uncontrollable as the denizens of the Inner Planes. Many elven cultures believe in the concept of an unchangeable True Self, which it is impossible to disobey. This may be due to the fact that many elves feel an irresistible pull to act and behave a certain way.
Elves are the oldest race on the planet. They originated on the Feywild, and are the descendants of a group of fey that chose to cut their ties to the Feywild and live as mortals on the Material Plane. As time has passes, elves have lost more and more of their connection to the Feywild, but the cultural impact of their past has remained.

Basic Information
Anatomy
Elves resemble humans very closely. The biggest differences are that elves have six fingers, forked tongues, and, of course, large pointed ears. They have wide mouths, and some ethnicities have sharp fangs that resemble a serpent's.
Genetics and Reproduction
Elf children are rare, as they have low fertility except at specific stages of their life cycle (right as they reach adulthood, and later as they approach middle age.) Elves often have multiple births, but it is not guaranteed that every infant will survive childbirth. In fact, it is devastatingly common for an elven mother to lose most of her children.
Growth Rate & Stages
Elves age quite slowly, and reach physical maturity at around 150 years of age. They can live up to 750 years.
