Half Elf
Human and Ef, Half Elves live with one foot in either parent's society, which often leads them to feel as if they are never truly part of either society. While it's not uncommon for their hybrid status to weigh heavily on them, many find the adaptability freeing. They desire to discover who they truly are, so they will often travel.

Anatomy
Half Elves tend to have an even blend of characteristics from both parents. They get their facial features and lean build from their Elven heritage. Their height can vary, but they tend to be taller than the average human but shorter than the average Elf. If an Half Elf desires, they can temporarily use magic to look more Elven or Human.
Biological Traits
They tend to live longer than Humans do, but not as long as Elves. Half Elves have a running speed similar to Humans. Their magical abilities are more similar to Elves, and they are resistant to having their mind magically pried.
Genetics and Reproduction
Half elves can be produced from any combination of Elven and Human folk, however they are unable to breed among themselves, for Half Elves, like all other hybrids, are always infertile.

Social Structure
Highly sociable, Half Elves tend to be decent at integrating themselves into different societies, but they can be wary of other folks intentions. Despite this they try not to judge someone based on first impressions and are open to making friends and allies. This can lead to them forming unique and unexpected bonds with others. Because of this Half Elves can make for excellent diplomats and peacemakers.
Facial characteristics
Half Elves typically have a facial structure similar to Elves, but their eyes are shaped more like a Humans. Their eye color can vary drastically, and any eye color their parent races have they can have. Similar to their Elven parents, Half Elves have pointed ears, but they tend to be shorter and a bit rounder.
Geographic Origin and Distribution
While most common in Elven and Human settlements many often leave their birth homes and wander the land, looking for a place to truly call home.

They have relatively good low light vision.

Major Language Groups and Dialects
The first language they learn often depends on what kind of society they are born into. Half Elves born in a Human dominated society will learn one of the Human Languages while those born in an Elf dominated society will learn an Elven language. Those that take to the road or become merchants will also learn the Merchant's Tongue.

They tend to adopt want ever culture they were born into and lack a unified homeland and culture.

Humans and Elves
Half Elves are born when Humans and Elves have short lived sexual relationships. They are often seen as a living link between Elves and Humans, which often leads to unfair expectations. It's not uncommon for their birth communities to expect them to be just like their peers. Many are often encouraged or even forced to become diplomats for their parent cultures.
Dwarves
They often get along with Dwarves.
Halflings and Gnomes
Halflings and Gnomes tend to view Half Elves with curiousity while the Half Elves secretly envy their carefree ways.
Half Orcs
The relationship between Half Orcs and Half Elves is highly dependent on the cultures they are born into. If born into cultures that are currently in conflict the two will often distrust or even outright hate one another, while those born into cultures that get along will be more accepting of one another. When the two do form friendships they can be extremely loyal companions.
