Avernus
The Hamlet of Avernus was Halgen's answer to having clear-cut around the city in order to expand with the discovery of the God's Vault , and as such is Halgen's primary workforce housing for the loggers on shift.
Nestled nicely in a small plain between the Northwood and the Worldspire Mountains , Avernus is an almost picturesque settlement. Log homes, cobble chimneys, and houses climbing the foothills of the snow-capped mountains to afford views of the woods and - on a clear day - Sanctuary Bay.

Demographics
Human, Gnome, and Elvenkind make up the majority of Avernus' populace - and the permanent residents are either working in forestry to reforest the areas cut by Halgen's loggers, or working in smaller farms to support the hamlet itself.
Government
Avernus is governed by a Gnomish woman named Haelin, whose job consists primarily of zoning areas for the replanting of the forests, and ensuring crop rotation is carried out without a hitch. Secondarily, she will travel to Halgen to speak on behalf of the hamlet to discuss budgeting needs of Avernus.
Industry & Trade
Avernus' economy is based heavily on the logging trade, as well as government grants passed down directly from Acaron to ensure the forest stays alive and well.
Avernus also makes a tidy sum - often just enough to deal with the citizens taxes - by offering discounted lodging for workers from Halgen .

Guilds and Factions
Though officially there are no guilds or factions operating within Avernus, a rather lavish room on the top floor of her inn has been rented to the kingdom.
