Hw. Habn'Izm University
Hw. Habn'Izm University is the centre of higher learning within Alagria and is based within Barada.
Hw. Habn’Izm was Alagria’s most famous scholar; responsible for many theories across multiple disciplines, he was posthumously Hallowed by the followers of Ormad. Amongst his most noteworthy contributions to Barada are the mechanism of the Lift of Luminance and the lighting network derived from the power of the Shams Al’Oloq.

The University is headed by the Dean, who also sits on the Council of 3 Disciplines, representing the interests of academia within the nation.
The current head of the University is Dean (Polymathic) Nasira Ghazali (Lizardfolk, N).

Facts about the University
- While the The Obfuscati are responsible for religious activity within the city, the University is strongly aligned with - and indeed sponsors - Ormad worship within Barada.
- Delluminism is an Olochian belief that suggests that all matter is made of darkness, which is why light struggles to pass through matter, and why Oloch claims the bodies of the dead.
- ((The idea for Delluminism came from the twelfth century Islamic philosophy of Illuminationism, which generally states that all things are made of light... I think))
- Sufficiencism is the belief that everything that can be achieved with magic must be possible without magic, albeit with increased effort and energy. The purpose of the study is to build up resilience, should magic ever leave the world and mortals to fend for themselves.

- The University used to only accept Alagrian students, however this rule was changed in the first half of the 1400's by the Great Shovrhan of Alagria Ragyogazh of the Shining Star.
- Prof. Rosie Stone is the first post-Akhreti scholar to decipher the hieroglyphics of Akhret. She has also written the first treatise on the language of the Halflings, which traditionally has only been passed down orally. She intends to publish it posthumously to avoid any retribution from the Halfling community.
