Mercannan
Mercannan is the Aran god of the oceans, seas and bodies of water.
Mercannan created the sea races and sea creatures. He controls the tides and the waves, and the creatures of the oceans.
He is the partner of the Degdia and the father of Umberlee and told in the myth of The Birth of Umberlee.
Divine Domains
Mercannan has domain over the sea and all upon and within in. He is said to control oceans, waves, sea creatures, sailors, water, lakes. He has a tense relationship with Brigantia, goddess of rivers, causing cycles of drought and flood.
Divine Symbols & Sigils
A common symbol of Mercannan is a single wave (usually white) against a disk of green. This is not to be confused with the dual diverging wave of Umberlee.
He is the patron of sailors and pirates. Many wear an eye-patch either in his tribute, or to avoid the gaze of his wrath. The second path is a dangerous path to tread, as wherever Mercannan is not looking, Umberlee may dwell.
