Vulen Bloodfang

Vulen was born of the lowest ranks among the Half-Dragons. He was forced to grow up with his parents standings until he came of age to undertake The Trials of Fire. However, because of his low-ranking and lack of any higher ranked citizens to speak on his behalf, he could not gain any permissions to challenge higher ranked individuals which lead him to merely crawl though the lower rankings. Vulen was forced to fend for himself when an Ork tribe, The Skull Takers, made their raids on Anew. It was during these trying times Vulen crossed paths with Azura Crosswind who was sent out with a battalion to fend of The Skull Takers. After the battles Vulen did everything to maintain his connection to Azura to the extent he had moved from Anhew to the capital, Zaneunisal. Here he gained housing through recommendation from Azura and pledged himself as a paladin to defend his home. His Connection to Azura and the Church allowed Vulen to catapult through future Trials of Fire. When Drakon Crosswind (AKA The Obsidian Claw) died, his now lover, Azura grew distraught to the point she was going to abandon her duties and throw away her future. Vulen caught in the middle of his home and his love instinctively sided against threatening his current status and losing his powers by breaking his oaths out of fear. A decision he would realize he regretted when he found Azura has gone through with fleeing from her home. Vulen has begun to work for Diplomat Rita Ophilia in an effort to both secure his homes safety and to secretly search for Azura to try and at least make amends for what he did. To his surprise he did run across Azura during a Festival in Lumara, who was working as a first mate aboard a ship called the Knowledge Seeker. He managed to make a bet with Azura to stay in contact and at least talk to him again, to which he won. After winning he offered to take Azura home and offered to help her regain her standing like she did for him. However, she at the last minute refused and stayed aboard the Knowledge seeker. Vulen has since been sending letters to both Azura and her Captain, Zephier (in attempts to befriend him despite a short scuffle back in Lumara). He however very rarely received any letters back from only Azura. He would learn of Zephier's death only because the Paper birds no longer would take flight.

History

Azura and Vulen met During the skirmishes of Anhew. Azura ended up running across Vulen during a battle in which Vulen was caught trying to kill a couple Ork looters in attempt to take their gains for himself. Azura assisted him and return he aided her by providing as much information as he could about The Skull Takers. While Vulen stuck close to Azura despite not having very much combat training or experiance, and ended up forming a valuable friendship with her.  After the Skirmishes ended and Anhew was saved it was time for Azura to return home. Vulen, not wanting to lose this new friendship, begged Azura to take him with her and help him at least to find a temporary place to stay and help him climb through The Trials of Fire. To which she did. Vulen managed to stay and work for the Temple of Onixath. In addition with continued help from Azura he catapulted his status in Zaneunisal, and eventually became a paladin to defend it. It was also during this time He and Azura went from friends to lovers. The next year Azura and Vulen were fairly happy. They would often work with each other to ward of threats and spent most of their free time together. Vulen even made good relations with Azura's family. When a Plague Took Azura's grandfather, Drakon she became distraught which lead to a major argument between the two. This also lead to their separation, although Vulen didn't realize it until he had found she left Turnock Tolgalen entirely.

History

Drakon eventually met Vulen some time after Azura's and Drakon's relationship became official. Vulen was excited to meet Drakon and even valued any training or advice the old adventurer would grant him.  And despite Drakon's status plummeting due to constant challanges from The Trials of Fire, Vulen always treated Drakon with the same amount of respect.  To this day Drakon valued Drakon as a friend and is saddened with how he died.

Because Azura didn't want to know where Drakon put the Obsidian Claw, he granted the information to Vulen. To which Vulen promised he would do everything he could to keep is safe until Azura claimed it.
