This contract, facilitated through the hellphone, now allows the party to transfer and collect wealth directly, eliminating the need to return to Idwala after each venture. With this new convenience, the adventurers find themselves better equipped to pursue their goals without the constant interruption of logistical concerns. Encounter with "The Lady with Hair" and the Gnomish Inventor The session kicked off with a fierce confrontation between the Radain Rhinos and "The Lady with Hair," a mysterious figure with connections to Keye's shadowy past, and her gnomish accomplice. The duo sought to secure the Dynamo, an artifact of great power, but the Rhinos stood firm. After a hard-fought battle, the gnome, realizing the tide was turning, fled the scene, leaving his partner in a precarious position. No longer bound by her contract, "The Lady with Hair" vanished as well, but not before a cryptic exchange with Solomon hinted at deeper machinations at play. The Jackalwere's Hideout Undeterred, the party pressed on into the depths of the Jackalweres' hideout. They encountered Scritch, a cowardly Jackalwere who, after a brief and terrifying negotiation, relinquished the Dynamo in exchange for gold. However, Scritch’s fear got the better of him, and he forgot the gold in his panic, running to his leader, Rasha. Rasha, along with the remaining Jackalweres, confronted the party, only to discover Scritch's deception. The Rhinos seized this opportunity to secure a place to stay for the evening, leaving Rasha and her crew demoralized and outmatched. Unveiling the Tomb of High Lord Kaelith Valandar During their exploration, Corrin discovered ancient stone tablets that revealed the Jackalweres had made their camp in the tomb of High Lord Kaelith Valandar, an Aragite hero of legend. The tablets read: "Here Lies High Lord Kaelith Valandar Warden of the Emerald Spires, Champion of the Light Eternal Bearer of the Crown of winged Aragite Beneath this sacred earth, rests the eternal flame of Aragite, Whose valorous deeds and boundless wisdom Shall guide the hearts of men for generations untold. In life, he was our shield; In death, he is our star." This discovery hinted at the significance of the area and foreshadowed potential future quests related to Aragite relics and the eternal flame. Keye's Revelation In a moment of vulnerability, Keye (revealed as Thibaut Megal) shared more of his mysterious past with the party. He confessed his true identity is Thibaut Megal, son of Guillaume Megal, the Arch Magus of Les Sept Tour. Despite his father's high hopes, Keye lacked the innate connection to the weave, preventing him from advancing in magical prowess. This shortcoming led him to join The Machine, a clandestine organization that operates in the shadows, carrying out secretive tasks for powerful clients. He also revealed that "The Lady with Hair" is a member of this organization, which further complicates their relationship. Keye’s actions, particularly his pursuit of the crashed airship and the Dynamo, may have caused friction within The Machine, putting him in a precarious position.
