Eidolon: Gho Tosog

Cataclysm & Oblivion

After the Cataclysm, an event that destroyed All- Life, the Old Gods that had perished were reborn in a place known as Oblivion. To each possessed a fragment of Divine Source, the remnant of the All-Soul. Like moths, they gathered in bloody slaughter, consuming the Divine Source from the fallen and harnessing it's power. Deprived of their memories and original forms, they fought until there was only one; from the remains of those dead, forgotten deities, rose an immortal, wicked abomination, Goddess of Destruction, Sebut Sekt.

Shortly after her birth, Sebut Sekt fell into a torpor, known as the Walking Dream. In this somnambulant state, the undesirable parts fell from her and became the first of the Eidolons. Ancient entities with the strength of fallen deities, the Eidolon are enigmatic beings that exist against Natural Order. They hold shards of the Profane Source- a twisted. shadow-form of Divine Source.

Ancient Eidolons

GHO TOSOG
4, EIDOLON OF CONFLICT, AGGRESSION, SAVAGERY, & WARFARE

This massive creature has a head that resembles an elephant. Three central eyes are aligned vertically center of it's skull. Two long trunks and four tusks frame Gho Tosog's lower jaw. A pelt of thick, black and shaggy fur drapes the back and main forearms- two smaller pair of vestigial arms cross around the massive chest, forming a ring around the upper torso. The abdomen features a singular, slavering maw supported on four broad pillars. Occasionally, the vestigial arms lift the abdomen to reveal the massive tongue and abyssal depths of the Eidolon's stomach. Gho Tosog's main forearms are proportionately muscular, covered in dark black fur and end with nimble hands tipped in black claws. Gho Tosog has bat- like wings and a long, braided tail of sinew that ends in a large rounded club. Ritual scarrification has left deep scars and tattoos adorning Gho Tosog's flesh. Of the Eidolon, Gho Tosog is one of the few concerned with humanity and matters of war, spreading hatred and violence across countries.

Behavior & Psychology

Gho Tosog, "The Trumpeter", is the war- bringing harbinger of grief and hatred. Considered a messenger of war, Gho- Tosog heralds the arrival of new Eidolon, battles and conflicts, and often acts as an intermediary between the OverWorld and the mortal realms. It demands bloody offerings and sacrifices in return for success in battle. As an ancient Eidolon, Gho Tosog is well- known amongst various tribes of humans that once falsely worshipped this blood- thristy warrior. Many of those civilizations were ruined by the ravages of time yet the ancestors of those tribes still revere Gho Tosog as a harbinger of savage war.

Your descriptions of the Eidolons are always fantastic, very evocative.   Rereading this one I noticed something I hadn’t before - the mention of the OverWorld. I would love to see an article about that; it sounds intriguing.
