03: Law of Domains
"I am the Domain. From one beginning, Creation; to the end, Destruction. Between each is the Ley, undivided. Balancing the Ley is the boundary of the Domain; All- Life finds a Domain in Life and Death. Domain is a Construct of Source, subject to the Source and the Divine."
A) Domain
An expression of the Realms Source.
B) Theorem of Psionics
"The Source of the Mind is connected to the All as All is an extension of the Mind."
C)Spectrum Dictum
" Wherein one exists so too does its counterpart, at extremes; all else is subject to the spectrum between."
D) Death Infinitum
"Death may be given rest for a spell but Time is Timeless and thus is Death's Will."
Manifestation
A Domain is defined as " one of or many material or transient realms; connected by Source." These are Realms within Realms which exist seperately but simultaneously. The relationship between the Ley Anima and Ley Corpus are great examples of two Domains existing as one.
As it relates to the study of Psionics, Psions believe that the Source of the Mind is the conduit for perception of a Domain. This explains why Sources that not only connect to Deities but also to the Realms often relates idealistic energies, instead of raw energies, as seen by other Spellcrafts. The "Psionic Theorem" states that, "The Source of the Mind is connected to the All as All is an extension of the Mind." If a Caster can't perceive of the ideas that frame a Source then they are unable to properly attune to a Source. Metamancers, who often employ the Theorem of Psionics in their Spellcraft, understand this relationship and attempt to expand their awareness through study and research.
Within the Law of Domains, there is the understanding that which exists in opposition with each other are related to the same thing. Creation and Destruction are states of existence in Material. Scholars of Firmament Laws created the "Spectrum Dictum", stating " Wherein one exists so too does its counterpart, at extremes; all else is subject to the spectrum between." Opposites are often found to similarly describe one single thing. Many Scholars use this Dictum as a means to elaborate the "Two As One" Ultimatum and its extension, the Singularity Provision.
For example, hot and cold are varieties of temperature. While we feel degrees of either, we experience absences and presences of one singular: the severity and degrees of temperature. This is also the basis for understanding when it comes to Alchemist's studies of Thermal Dynamics. The "All- Chemia" expresses this in the 4th Principle of Alchemy- Thermodynamics. In the Law of Domains, this is referred to as the Ley, undivided. This process of energy flows is expressed in another Law, the Law of Exchanges, and referenced much more in the "All- Chemia and its expansive volumes".
Inherently, each Deity is connected to a Domain; this Domain is within their control, as decreed by the Law of Domains "... subject to the Source and the Divine." Those that understand their relationship to the Source also understand that they can alter the Domain. Each Deity has a sphere of influence, a Domain, where Souls are constantly in ebb and flow as they seek the Source. For example, Amede is the Goddess of Souls; her Domain is the whole of Ley Anima. While Souls initially pass through Amede's Ley Anima, they continue their journey to farther realms beyond or find their rest with her inside the Anima. She is aware of and can control aspects of her Domain as if the realm was an extension of herself.
Deities are granted Domains as part of the Auresol or Divine Soul. Those with similar Auresol are often included within the same Domains. If one Deity takes over the other's Domain, this usually indicates a shift in beliefs of their own worshippers. Domains exist as sanctuaries for the Soul, providing security and spiritual protection. However, the subject of what happens to a Domain when a Divine entity has perished is questioned by many scholars. The solution is known as the "Death Infinitum Clause" which decrees that "Death may be given rest for a spell but Time is Timeless and thus is Death's Will."
Scholars believe that there is a special year that is most unfortunate for one to perish within. For 520 Days, Death takes a holiday. Oah gave this to Mulmot in a decision between the two Deities which decided their Fates. For one year, Life blooms and spreads in a season of liberation. The reason it is ominous to die within this year is the belief that Death spirits, and those who are connected to Sources of Life and Death become living agents of Death. As Mulmot "lives" in the material realm, Time slows its press upon the living; Death from old age becomes uncommon and lives are suspended by virtue of the absence of Death.
