Abaddon

(a.k.a. Baphomet)

The Destroyer, the chosen of the Traitors, the Horned King, and Baphomet. All names used to describe the entity that is known as Abaddon. It is said that he alone has garnered the influence of three of the Traitor Gods ( Torog, The Banished Queen , Torog, The Banished Queen  and Zaridun, The Changer of Ways ) , and constantly pits them against each other, and against his original patron. He has attempted to treat with Myrkul, The Lord of Bones, though Myrkul demands the utmost loyalty of his followers, and has long since made Abaddon his enemy.     He began as a champion of Malar, The Beastlord , a great hunter and dangerous foe that served with great accolade during the war of arcanum. However, he was lured to darkness, some say by Kajo, the Excessive , when he was gifted with his powerful blade, Heartcleaver. He soon learned to pit the various gods against each other and gained blessings from each. From Malar, The Beastlord he kept his fierce tenacity and skill as a hunter. From Teritus, The Plague Lord he gained uncanny constitution, and unyielding will. From Zaridun, The Changer of Ways he gained control over the magics of the Abyss, and the power of his own destiny. Finally, from Torog, The Banished Queen  he raised an army of loyal servants on the material plane, and soon brought forth more from The Abyss at Abaddon's Rest.   Abaddon divides the creatures of the world into two groups. Those who acknowledge his power are his servants, and he endows them with savagery and a hunter’s cunning. The rest are prey, creatures to be hunted and slaughtered. His aim is to transform the cosmos into his personal hunting ground. Abaddon' layer of the Abyss is a never-ending dungeon, the center of which holds the Horned King’s enormous ziggurat palace. A confusing jumble of crooked hallways and myriad chambers, the palace is surrounded by a mile-wide moat concealing a maddening series of submerged stairs and tunnels leading deeper into the fortress.
