Levin

The nation of walls, Levin is well known across the wards for their defiance. Using the natural border with the Heraldwood, the distance, and the hellcreeper, as well as a lack of alluring natural resources to keep the Archons away from their home. While never being formally at odds with them, those of Levin aren’t private about their distaste for the magical overlords that loom north of them. The Archons have made no action to deal with them, for a number of reasons. The hellcreeper, the Heraldwood, and the fact that they’ve been smart to make no efforts to progress magically as a nation. Without being an arcane power, the Archons do not see them as posing any real threat.   Levin’s largest industry is their craftsmanship. A carriage, wall, shield, or just about anything else made by Levinien craftsman will notably outperform and outlast that of nearly any other Searan craft, besides maybe that of the dragons.

Culture

Levin is largely detatched from its original anti-Archon roots now, with a strong relationship with those of the Heraldwood, Halfhill, and the remnants of the kingdom of Winterlan. Their people are proud, noble folk, who pride themselves on their freedom and independance, sometimes to a fault. With such a stubburn national mindset, having the Levinien citizel back anything unfamiliar to them or new is incredibly difficult. The pushback to any change in the nation can be felt by any elf, halfling, or other non-human who tries to integrate into their largely human focused and supporting society.

Demography and Population

With a vastly human population, Levin sits in the heart of southern Sear, attracting the round eared mortals from any non-Archon settlement on it’s side of the shell. With waves of immigrants from Winterlan over the past century, this number only grows. Alongside humans, there is a collection of halflings, genasi, frost goliaths, elves of many kinds, and so on. From pointy eared refugees from Testifaria, elemental runaways from the Veleiuri ward, and half giant outcasts from Winterlan, the population grows more diverse by the day.

Foreign Relations

It goes without saying that the people of Levin have a cold but hostile relationship with the Archons. In the time since their founding, they’ve developed a budding friendship with the surreal denizens of the Heraldwood, and a similar but more distant one with those of Halfhill.   In the years since it’s collapse, Levin has attempted to be supportive of Winterlan by opening its arms to its people, but many, even those refugees, don’t think that’s enough. Many from Winterlan resent the lords of Levin for not sending aid sooner, given how much time they had to do so, and how drawn out and long the conflict was.
