Vanaren

Considered to be a subspecies of the Beastfolk , Vanaren see themselves as something wholly unique, and better. A proud culture of skilled warriors and devout worshippers of their chosen faith. They are native to the jungle-covered islands of Oposs, which has led them to develop various naval techniques. However, they are notoriously bad swimmers. After the Vanaren and Peoples made first contact with the Peoples, the Vanaren began to consider themselves a sixth civilization, lost to time. Vanaren resemble humanoid monkeys. They have large ears, and are covered in fur to various degrees. Their hair can range in color from red to black. Their limbs are lanky compared to humans, which is even more defined in smaller Vanaren. Larger Vanaren resemble humans in their facial structure, and smaller Vanaren can be indistinguishable from actual monkeys. Like monkeys, they also have a long flexible tail that they can use as an extra hand while climbing. Sometimes it's even dextrous enough to hold objects, but it can not wield weapons.
