Battle of Brightblade

Military: War

1253

After years of war, the battle was finally won. Brightblade and the Dragon Aspects sacrificed themselves to allow the people of Argus remaining to live another day.

The world was being consumed by the Elemental Wars. A giant clash between Nepturos, The Water Lord against Ragnaros, The Fire Lord and Terros, The Earth Lord was so violent, shockwaves pulsed across the world. It was so violent that not only did it utterly anihilate both Terros, The Earth Lord and Ragnaros, The Fire Lord, but also most lifeforms in the world that were not deep underground at the time. After his victory, Nepturos, The Water Lord' true plan came to pass. The explosion was so violent that each passing day, the star in the sky bringing what little warmth it could during the day grew dimmer and dimmer, until it was barely as big as the 3 moons. They then sought to cover the planet with permafrost and bring about an eternal ice age, making Argus their new plane of ice and water. All hope was lost.   It was then that Brightblade, dubbed by as such from the few that had survived, erupted from deep within a fiery volcano, the last one left in the world. He knew that he was Argus' last hope. With his sword drawn and his heart filled with courage, he came out flying in an eruption so violent, it is said that the entire sky caught on fire briefly and began to melt the permafrost, the largest one since Ragnaros had been defeated.   With his blade shining with the light and heat of a hundred stars. He flew across the dark skies in an armor equally bright. Upon feeling his new world warm up, Neptunios crawled up from the core of the world, its body now towering and nearly as large as a Titan, one might have said.   The battle between Brightblade and the elemental lord was epic, as they clashed with each other, their weapons and spells shaking the very foundations of the world. For days they fought, neither one gaining the upper hand.   But Brightblade was not alone in his fight. The Dragon Aspects, blessed by the Titans themselves came out of hiding and joined in on the fight, focusing their most powerful magics to banish Nepturos back to his plane and keeping them from ever coming back again. And as the battle raged on, the skies darkened, and the ground shook.   Finally, after what seemed like an eternity, Brightblade struck the final blow, shattering the elemental lord of water into a million pieces which were banished, using the very lifeforce of the Dragon Aspects. It is said that in a last ditch effort for the survival of the world, Brightblade's light became so intense that it could be seen from anywhere in the world. As if the sun was everywhere at the same time. A giant crater was left in the center of the world, albeit for a large plateau in its middle. After that, nothing of Brightblade, or the Dragon Aspects remained.   The most powerful beings sacrificed their own life, leaving behind only his sword, which became known as Brightblade's Legacy and became lost through time.   The people of the world mourned his loss and that of the old gods, the Dragon Aspects, but were celebrated for their heroism, and they erected a monument to him and the Aspects at the center of the plateau. The volcano itself became a symbol of hope and a reminder of the sacrifice that was made to save the world.   And so, the legend of Brightblade lived on, a shining example of the power of heroism and sacrifice in the face of great adversity.   As the days passed, the star in the sky became brighter and brighter, with the few people remaining on the scarred surface of Argus that the eternal winter would not come to pass.
