Arakis

Arakis! The capital of the Dutchy de Venture is a bustling city full of splendor and liveliness, it is the heart of the dutchy and the epicenter of trade in the south even cities like Augury and Laris cannot compare.   The city is build on the river seikjer and stretches along the Blackstone Mountainrange, looking out from the city one can see estates and farmhouses surrounded by fields of lush vineyards and grainfields stretching all the way to horizon. Contrary to cities like Luthadel Arakis was not built for war but rather for trade efficiency and beauty, this changed a little bit after the last war with a new set of battlements added to the outer walls and towers being built along the mountain passes leading into the city. The main focus however is still on the beauty, clean cut cobblestone line the streets accompanied by gorgeous arcs and flower beds along the walkways. Many streets bustle with activity and Artisans shops can be seen at every corner selling finely crafted goods.

Government

As the heart of the Duchy Arakis is also home to the Venture estate where most of the important members of House Venture reside and govern both the city and the duchy. Day to day management is almost entirely handled by local politicians, however their decisions are still supervised by house Venture to some extent. Almost anyone can become a politician in Venture and there is next to no class discrimination when it comes to climbing the political ladder. Therefore many citizens are very active and involved in local politics trying to impact their own lifes for the better. Through oaths and magic, curruption can usually be capped in the lower circles of politics, like section officers or minor administratives. Nevertheless, Venture's politics are characterized by manipulation and intrigue, but always with the aim of advancing the duchy.
