Ceretor - The Machine Lord

"But...why? Why, Ceretor?! After everything we've been through. Everything we've built together! Why do this?!"   "Die wondering."
Ceretor is the Fallen Ancient of technology, industry, and progress. Before The Cataclysm, Ceretor acted as Tempus - The Time Keeper's apprentice, assisting her in constructing tools for their fellow Ancients and supervising The Great Clock. Many theorize that Ceretor was not content being a mere apprentice, however. While he originally joined Tempus in her fight against the Fallen Ancients during the Cataclysm, he quickly betrayed his comrades and became the armorer and weaponsmith for the Fallen, giving significant upgrades to beings such as Tyrannus. According to surviving accounts, Ceretor himself was also quite cunning and resourceful during the conflict. After one of The Elder Ones was slain by Tempus - The Time Keeper, he extracted its heart and used it as a power source for a staff he began to wield.   Perhaps he saw an opportunity to achieve the power and control he believed he deserved. Or perhaps he just wanted to inflict pain upon Tempus. Whatever the reason, Tempus never recovered emotionally from his betrayal, leading many to believe Ceretor is the reason for her cold nature towards others.   Ceretor's domains may not seem particularly evil to many mortals at first glance. Indeed, Ceretor has a significant following amongst many Artificiers, Machinists, and Craftsmen across Arkos. Cognitos in particular has seen a rise in Ceretor worshippers, as it is the one nation on Arkos that actually allows public worship Ceretor, despite him being a Fallen. However, Ceretor's tenets dictate that industry and progress must be achieved at any cost, significantly devaluing mortal life.
