Tempus - The Time Keeper
"I have no desire to be involved in your petty squabbles, mortal or otherwise. My aspect, my charge, is far more important than any cause you could present. Time must keep flowing. The cycle of creation must turn."The mighty Tempus is the Ancient of Time, and as such is repsonsible for ensuring the temporal flow of creation remains untampered. Widely regarded as one of if not the most powerful of the Prime Ancients, those that believe in an Ancient hierarchy commonly place Tempus at the top. Despite the acknowledgement of her great power and important aspect of creation, Tempus does not a particularly large following among the mortals of Arkos compared to other Ancients. This is likely due to the fact that ever since The Cataclysm, Tempus chooses to remain neutral regarding many issues plaguing the Mortal Realm, and trusts very few after a betrayal she suffered. Her indifference paints her in a negative light at times, and her interaction with the other Prime Ancients is also strained. Regardless, Tempus takes her charge very seriously, and was likely one of the Ancients most in favor of constructing The Barrier of Providence after the Cataclysm. Tempus resides in the Realm known as The Great Clock, which in actuality is a unimaginably massive mechanical construct in The Cosmic Sea. Many scholars believe the Clock is an actual entity physically responsible for the flow of time in creation; therefore any harm to it would have disastrous consequences on all of creation. Tempus guards the clock along with a massive army of mechanical humaniods, though not much is known about these stoic constructs. Given her close association with time, Tempus is the Ancient most familiar with the River of Time, though even she is hesitant to even entertain discussion around it.
