Primordial Energy & The Arcane Weave

All those who bend fragments of reality to their will in even the most mundane fashions dip their toes into the weave; the flow of magical energy that permeates all of Creation. Every being in Creation uses it; from the mightest Ancient to the lowliest mortal. As all ancient ancestors have and all future generations will so long as the cosmology of the Cosmic Sea continues. - First Reader Tamiik During the Spark, the presumed birth of Creation at the dawn of time, an unknown event caused the Numina to split apart and separate. When the first-beings shattered and scattered their essence across Creation, the flow of their primordial energies gave birth to what modern mortals know as magic itself. Flowing through every realm of The Cosmic Sea, embedding small quantities of itself into every being with Anima (and even some objects), primordial energy is the source of the arcane weave, the font of magic that allows mortal-kind to cast spells and channel the mystical arts. Primordial energy has six distinct types, those being Light, Dark, Order, Chaos, Life, and Death. These six energies flow and combine with each other to create the various schools of magic that have been discovered and honed by mages and scholars over the ages. While every mortal has a small amount of Primordial energy within them by default, recent events have shown that having a copious, excess amount of primordial energy in oneself can result in an abundance of magical power and control over Creation itself. However, it can also lead to the loss of one's self or ego, cataclysmic destruction, and grotesque mutations to the individual obtaining the energy. Nevertheless, obtaining Primordial Energy in a raw form is the priority of certain nefarious individuals across Arkos, and is an achieveable feat thanks to the existence of materials such as Illuminite.
