Castle Frayn

Built from the Mountain Hymalore in the second age by the Giant Storm King Beuw. Castle Frayn was a gift to the dwarf Frayn, who saved King Beuw from a sickness that would have taken his life along with many other giants. As a reward for curing this sickness Frayn the first was named King of the Castle Frayn. It was in that day that the first dwarf King was named and ever since Frayns first born heirs have ruled the castle they all share a name with. Dwarf Kings name their first born sons after themselves and only dwarf Kings have this right amount Dwarves. Because of this tradition there has always been a King Frayn to sit on the dragon bone throne Castle Frayn. In the second age Castle Frayn was one of four castles in the Beuw Kingdom that was built out of The Luin Range. It was also the last to be built, before Castle Frayn the castles; Sturwick Fort, Lycafyn Castle and Fiengore Hold we're all built deeper in The Luin Range and we're all ruled by giants who sat under Beuw. These four castle were the defense for the rest of the Beuw Kingdom against the evils that came from The Luin Range. For in the second age dragons such as Moorepelko fought wars against the Giants from The Luin Range. Before the second creation Moorepelko had destroyed the castle Lycafort leaving it in ruins. Along with Fiengore Hold being taken by a dragon known as Zelkorten and was used as his Lair until The Eternal Slumber ended the dragons and their conquests. After The Eternal Slumber the servants of the dragons were left to fight amungst themselves and some banded together under new leaders. For the rest of the second age the Castle Frayn along with Sturwick Fort defend the Beuw Kingdom from assaults that came from The Luin Range. Until near the end of the second age all communication with Sturwick Fort was lost. That was over one thousand years ago and the King of castle Frayn still sends search parties out to discover what happened to Sturwick Fort. With rarely a search party returning and when they do, they return with little work of the ancient fort. Now castle Frayn is the last defense for the Kingdom of Beuw from the south and while the raids from ancient enemies still occur. There has not been a raid for over two hundred years and the scouts of King Frayns army reports little movement or activity from known hobgoblin strongholds.

The Castle Frayn itself is actually several fortresses built out of a single Mountain, These fortresses sit at different heights upon the mountain and are connected by a complex network of tunnels. These tunnels also connect the fortresses to the inner city, which is a small walled city built at the base of the mountain. Within the inner city is three fortresses. The inner cities entrance gates all face north, the first is named the Gates of Frayn and are the main gates. The Gates of Frayn are the west most gates of the city. The center gates are called the Sailors Gates, the gate are built over a river that feeds into The Beuw Lake. This gate is used most by fisher men and traders who are looking to either move goods to and from the inner city. Or to take goods into the tunnels as the river flows calmly out of the mountain and connects to many different parts of the tunnels. The east most gate is the Common Gate, it opens to some of the many villages that sit outside of the walls of Frayn. Most of these villages are home to farmers and fishers who help feed the people of the area. However the west most town is the Military academy for King Frayns Army. Each of these villages is ruled by a lord who maintains order in village and these Lords are assigned by King Frayn. Six of the fortresses of Castle Frayn are ruled by Barons and one village outside of the castle walls is ruled by a Baron. These Barons are assigned by King Frayn and either over look one of the five underground mining cities that are ruled by Frayn or in the case of the village Baron. They assist the village Lords in keeping order of the villages outside of the castles walls. The seventh fortress is the home of King Frayn and his family and the Dragon Bone Throne sites in the great hall of this fortress. Within this seventh fortress also sits a council of three dwarf barons and six dwarf Lords. Two Lords each work under a Baron of the Kings council. This small council is the Kings most trusted advisory and each of the Baron's and Lords live in the Kings fortress along with their families.

There are nine total villages outside of castle Frayn, eight of them are ruled by different Lords and one is ruled by a Baron who helps the Lords over look all the villages along with overlooking his own. The villages are spread across the plains infront of the castle walls, four villages sit next to the north wall. There names are: Corbur, Norton, Harlden, and Hurtlepoll. The river that flows out of the sailors gate has four villages along its banks. Two of those villages are next to the castle walls while the other two are furth south on west bank. The villages that sit next to the sailors river and the castle walls are: Harlden and Hurtlepoll. While the two villages that sit further up the river are: Riverdime and Kelpa. Kelpa sits on the sailors river and also sits at the banks of The Beuw Lake and is next to another village. That village is the south most village of the area and sits on the edge of The Beuw Lake, it is called Lakeshore. The village that the Baron lives in is called Crossroads and the last village sits on the south banks of the first river that splits from the sailors river east. The village is called Easthaven and is next to Hurtlepoll and Norton, Easthaven is mostly a fishing village.

To be allowed past the Walls of Frayn a group must have a ticket of entrance from either a lord or a Baron or the Beuw Kingdom. This ticket will tell the guards where in the city you will be allowed to go and why you are looking for entrance into Castle Frayn. The punishment for a sneaking into the Castle is life in the fifth mining city. Which is known as Durmyndeth, it is one of the worst prisons in dwarven society and called the "Hell Mines" as slang. This prison city is used by all dwarven kingdoms to keep prisoners.

There are five underground mining cities that are in the mountains below Castle Frayn. Each one of these cities is overlooked by a Baron and a Lord appointed by said Baron lives within each city. The Lord rules the city in the stead of the Baron and King. Four of these Mining cities are simply that, an underground city built to obtain, process then export the ores and minerals from the mount Hymalore to the Castle Frayn. These ores are transported threw mine rails that go threw out the tunnels of the Castle. The fifth city Durmyndieth is a prison city and the only people who live their are the miners who are prisoners, the guards over look the city and the lord who rules it. The fifth city has little contact with the other mining cities other then being the main prison for all the mining cities. The other four mining cities are all connected together and trade with each other continuosly.
