Hogsmarch

Hogsmarch is the westernmost settlement of the Red Realm. During the early wars of the Realm, Hogsmarch was a little more than an agricultural hamlet until the monarchy determined that the hilltop provided a fortified garrison for armed forces. The keep was constructed atop the hill and the hamlet grew to a proper town.   While there has not been a western war in centuries, it is customary for the nobility to be granted the title of Marquess/Marchioness the Torchbearer, as they are responsible for holding territory from any incursion from the west. The Torchbearer has historically loyal to the Duke of Höffs Borough. In peacetime, the garrison of troops numbers more than one-hundred, including the nobility.   As border settlement, the authorities of Hogsmarch serve as tariff collectors for those entering the Red Realm from the west.   Products: Animal products (leather, meat), fungi (mushrooms and truffles), grains (wheat, rye, oats), beans.
