Primordial Soup

A tempestuous sea of ever-changing terrain and clashing elements, Tartarus is said to be the ancient body of Corpus, that existed before he was awoken by Anima. It is the birthplace of all matter, a swirling soup of potential energy.

Elemental Dominions

Beings powerful enough to harness the potential of Tartarus can create realms suspended above the void, using the power of chaos itself to construct a new plane of existence. The first elemental dominions were the primal planes of Water, Earth, Fire, and Air; Which have since crumbled back into the void. However, pieces of their essence still float freely in the soup, and can be visited at great risk to the traveler.

Other notable Elemental Dominions are those of Baator and the Abyss, of devils and demons respectively; As well as Pandemonium, or at least part of it. The infinite corridors of Pandemonium run through all places.

Birthplace of Monsters

Tartarus is said to be the birthplace of all evil creatures. They formed out of the swirling chaos and made their way to the mortal planes. Legends say that the most evil creatures do not disappear when killed, but they simply return to Tartarus, where they reform over many years to eventually return.
