Outsider

Beings from beyond the realm of mortals, "outsider" is an all-encompassing term for any creature that has origins anywhere but Ashaia. These outsiders are often beings of significant power that are able to freely step between their world and Ashaia. It is neither correct or incorrect to say that outsiders come from a different plane of existence. In many ways this is true in that they indeed come from a place that is not like Ashaia and has different rules, physics and other core reality concepts. On the other hand these places must be physically traveled to and entered via outsider portals, making them more of a location than a plane.

Types of Outsider

There are many variations of outsider, but most fall into just a few categories.

Celestials

Those outsiders that come from Celestia are called Celestials. They are typically benevolent in nature and are often called "angels" or "lightbringers" by those mortals fortunate enough to catch sight of them. Their presence is almost entirely exclusive to Edore.

Infernals

The Infernals are those outsiders that come from Inferno, a terrible place filled with fire and malice. These outsiders are almost always caught manifesting for the express purpose of causing pain Like the Celestials, Infernals keep their presence exclusively on Edore.

Yōkai

The most diverse and sociable of the outsiders, Yōkai come from Yōkai no Kuni. Their presence only extends to the island portion of Kondai and their "outsider portals" are unique in that they disappear and reappear frequently, sometimes they will appear for only minutes before moving on to locations unknown.
