Physical Description

General Physical Condition

Gaiseric is very fit, strong, and agile having trained to be a guard and warrior in service to his Htearn. He is tall, with a strong, broad build.

Personal history

• Gaiseric was born in the region of Getar.
• When he was a child, a Christian missionary moved to their region after falling into Karkhana, and a few years later Gaiseric and his parents pledged their lives to following Christ.
• When he was 12, his parents died. As an unprotected orphan, he was sent to the region of Hintar as a peace offering of sorts.
• Hintar, facing the Guatha Vengeance, placed Gaiseric as that year's sacrifice. However, the Htearn stepped out to take his place at the last minute, and Gaiseric's life was spared. The Htearn's son, after taking his father's position, accepted Gaiseric into his household and had him trained as a guard.
• When Aderes Ashton-Twoshare falls into Karkhana, Gaiseric marries her to give her protection and save her from being given to the Guatha Vengeance.
• A few months after marrying Aderes, Gaiseric is abducted by gribril (Drimmers) and kept as their prisoner until he and Aderes (with help) escape and fight the corvild responsible for their captivity.
• A few months after their battle with Corvild Verisi Ketin, Gaiseric is released from his oath as Htearn Kahvad's guard. Htearn Kahvad designates Gaiseric and his family as the guardians of the gateways, and gives the Twoshare family permission to explore the gateways at will. 
• He, Aderes, and their son Khiern begin cataloguing and exploring the gateways and the worlds beyond, and they become known allies of the Ashtons.

Education

Gaiseric received education in Getar at the local school. After his parents' deaths and his relocation to Hintar, he received a private education within Htearn Kahvad's complex.

Employment

• For the first years of Gaiseric's adult life, he served as a guard in the household of Htearn Kahvad.
• After the battle with Corvild Ketin, Gaiseric becomes a guardian and explorer of the gateways.

Accomplishments & Achievements

Despite being an outsider (a severe disadvantage in Karkhana), Gaiseric is one of Htearn Kahvad's most trusted guards and has more authority among the guard than most.

Failures & Embarrassments

Gaiseric's status as a native of the region of Getar, living in Karkhana, is a social stigma. The previous Htearn's sacrifice to save Gaiseric's life was a double edged sword for Gaiseric: it showed the Htearn's value and protection over Gaiseric (which Kahvad continued), but it also gave the people of Hintar reason to resent him. Any respect he has among the people of Yhordo was earned through many years of service, and many still view him as an outsider unworthy of their Htearn's personal protection.

Morality & Philosophy

Gaiseric is a strong Christian, and has great loyalty to his faith.  He also has strong loyalty to Htearn Kahvad, though he eventually comes to the conviction that his loyalty and protection of his family comes before his loyalty to his leader and people.

History

Aderes married Gaiseric after accidentally falling into the world of Karkhana. Although strangers and somewhat distant at first, Gaiseric enters the marriage committed to protecting and caring for Aderes. Aderes, though struggling with the loss of her world and family, appreciates Gaiseric's care for her. As the couple struggles to understand and get to know one another, they come to a deep love of one another that stands the test of the many trials they must face.

Gaiseric mostly calls Aderes by her full name, though occasionally uses her nickname "Addy". Aderes calls Gaiseric by his full name or "Seric."
