Industry & Trade
Aside from being an excellent trade hub from land to sea, Assyrian jewelry and pottery is prized by many collectors across the world. Assandria also sits on fertile soil, from which surplus is traded overseas.
Infrastructure
With the help of dwarven miner guilds, acqueducts were constructed around -200, carrying fresh water from the north into the city. A river runs through the low quarter of the city, where wastewater eventually ends up before being washed into the ocean. Thanks to this, The districts away from the slums are afforded running water and a rudimentary sewer system, which does not extend beyond the city limits into the surrounding outskirts.
The Assandrian docks are also famed for their size and trading volume. Nearly running from the north to south end of the city, the robust docks support a large naval garrison, as well as a host of trade and travel ships.
One of the main landmarks is the silver bridge, a large crossing that passes over the slums from the silver gate into the entertainment quarter.
Another key attraction is the colosseum, which used to be used for sparring between monarch candidates up to around year -100, but has since been adopted into public entertainment, as the battle for candidacy has been moved out of the public eye.
The castle Alexandra towers over the city, as the walled off seat of power for the sorcerer king.

Districts
The slums house the majority of the population. Situated on the lowland south and east ends of the city, living conditions are poor and cramped. Mobility in and out of this area is strictly controlled, through guarded gates that monitor and vet visitors.
The entertainment quarter sits in the middle of Assandria, across the silver bridge. The main cultural and arts center, one finds the colosseum, and a variety of galleries, restaurants, specialty stores, and theatres. Almost paradisal, this district caters to the taste of the extravagant.
The trade quarter encompasses the west side and the whole of the docks. Journeymen of all kinds ply their trade in great billowing furnaces, in black steaming vats, or underneath the scope of a magnifying glass.
The temple quarter Encompasses the castle itself, and the north end of the city. Religious men make up a large portion of those here, and places of worship for a plethora of gods are numerous. It is also where most upper class reside.
