Personal history
Born in Assandria, dropped off at orphanage immediatly after birth (L). Born from two middle class humans who were like wtf who waterlogged the baby and got rid of her at a local city orphanage. Parents were very concerned with appearences and didn't want a blue kid. #AvatarHaters.
Orphanage was in the slums, specifically the Warrens.
Grew up extremely poor, but grew to have a sense of comrodery with other orphans, looked after by a kind old woman named Old Gran, the only positive adult role model in her life. Her orphanage helped create kind individuals who gave back to the comminity after they grew up, she was a pillar of the entire community.
When Mist was 12 a years-long land dispute between Old Gran and an Upper Class land developer came to fruition, resulting in a forceful eviction from hired thugs who burned down the orphanage.
Barely escaping the fire herself, being chased away by the thugs, and assuming she was the only survivor, she fled to another slum across the city, putting as much distance between herself and the old orphanage as possible.
Needing to eat, she learned the ways of the thief, growing to become a common thief and pickpocket. She stayed in Assandria until she was 16, still avoiding her old neighborhood the entire time. Only able to look out for herself during this time period, she forgot her previous kind upbringing that would have told her to help others and seek community. She began to get involved with the local organized crime ring to sell her stolen goods, making a small name for herself as a thief, but not anyone of major importance.
Growing abitious with her thievery, and wanting to prove herself to the gang of the Warrens, the Underbelly, she stole a cart full of payroll from the Unchained, the gang of the tradesmen. This disrupted the peace between the gangs. This resulted in a full scale gang war between the factions. After many fatalities, the majority of the payroll was recovered by the Unchained, and seeking revenge, the Underbelly turned on Mist, chasing her out of the city. Stowing away on a large galleon headed west, she prepared for a new life of traveling across the globe, stealing what she needed to survive, once again only herself to look out for.
