Sorcerer Monarch
Qualifications
Person must be a member of Assyrian Royalty by blood, as they must also be gifted in Astral Sorcery. Nobles who cannot call upon sorcery are not elligible to compete for the title.
Appointment
Upon the death of a monarch, members of Assyrian Royalty with a gift for Astral Sorcery congregate to compete for the right to rule, under the supervision of the Keepers of the Comet. The sole victor is then allowed to ascend to the throne under the renewed blessing of The Comet of Cassandora.
Duties
Responsible for dictating the law of the land. Tasked with defending the Assyrian borders and resources from raiding and foreign invasion, and personally waging war if required.
Benefits
At a monarch's ascension, they travel to The Comet of Cassandora, under the direction of the Keepers of the Comet. Meeting with the comet, the monarch is reimbued with the blessing of astral sorcery and become freshly empowered, further elevating them above their peers.
