The Expedition's Revenge

Never one to accept a blow and then lie down, the expedition members discover a Saltieunni staging point, and promptly enact their revenge.

The Saltieunni, sharing in a psychic link, have the ability to rapidly communicate information upwards through the various tiers, and thus have the ability to expeditiously evaluate and respond to situations. Only rarely, could the Saltieunni truly be caught off guard.   Of course, today a Saltieunni queen would be in shock as she administrated over her nest, having received a psychic signal from a fortress where a number of Saltieunni had been stationed in order to rebuff and defeat any over-eager explorers who would attack them.   Being the last signal she received from there, it was a simple message that in common would be summarized as "what the fuck is that?" - which left her strangely uncertain of how to react. Eventually sending a scouting party to examine the area where the fort had been and discovering it to have been completely leveled.   Any attempts to divine what had happened there revealed almost no information, and for all they could tell, an incredibly abrupt and unexpected event had occurred, leaving them paranoid and on the defensive for several months - in order to try and determine what the cause of this damage was.   On the expedition's side however, this abrupt assault was a relatively simple process, as Anise and Pennie enhanced Marrok, Marrok had decided to forego the usage of his typical lance as ammunition, and instead - using the massive orcish hornbow, used the Gorumite Gabriel directly.   Launching him into the Air, Marrok then proceeded to duplicate his shot, many times over, as almost a dozen ghostly gabriels flew into the air, and with a prayer to his warloving god, crashed down upon the unaware saltieunni in a brief, but destructive impact - like a meteor whose friction had created a godly greatsword, The fort would be torn apart and reduced to rubble.   The death - too instant for the Saltieunni to understand or learn from, would drive them back for a few months at a time, and in the rubble, the combined heat and pressure exerted by Gabriel had given melted metal strange new properties - properties which seemed well blessed by his god.
