sVII: Reforming the Spokes of the Wheel

General Summary

Leaving the First Church of St. Cuthbert, Mangoseed would be given a weapon discovered at the battlefield. Not recognizing it as Pip's, he took the new Composite Shortbow from Rufus Brunel. Talking with Rufus the two would agree that hiring in town is too dangerous, so Mangoseed was sent to Verbobonc with money and the task to hire new members of the guild to perform the dangerous task at hand.
Arriving into Verbobonc Mangoseed would head off to the Firebear Meadery and purchase a barrel for himself as well as retrieve a prepaid barrel for Rufus. Heading to the Guild House next, Mangoseed would quickly recruit the talented (although arrogant) Finn. Leaving Finn to choose a bounty for the two, Mangoseed went to repair his armor at the blacksmith. Upon returning he found Finn blankly standing before the bounty board. Choosing for them, Mango picked out a bounty involving a teenager who had sold a defective saddle to a cavalier in the army.
Finding the delinquent playing crapes at Packard's Tavern, Finn would use the spell Sleep to easily manacle the wanted man, and bring him safely and unharmed to justice. This however would not be Immerial's plan, as upon coming too he would attempt to run from Mangoseed after breaking out of his grapple. Being put back to sleep the two would eventually get the prisoner to the Barracks and claim their bounty of 1 silver piece.
Returning back to the guild for a harder and more rewarding bounty, the two ran into Brog and Verena. Quickly recruiting these two adventures and reforming the 4 man party of the Wheel, Mangoseed went off to secure safe travel with the local branch of the The Running Six: Guild of Couriers. Successful in his task, the new group of adventures went back to Hommlet and the Inn of the Welcome Wench for rest and relaxation. However, before they could reach the Inn they were stopped by a guard, who informed them that they were expected at the keep for a meeting with Rufus and Burne the Wizard.
Heading there, the group would finally meet the mysterious wizard atop his tower, the interior of which was translucent, allowing a complete panoramic view of the town and the surrounding environs. The Mercenaries and the Lords of Hommlet would discuss the events of the week prior, as well as plans set in place to stop the Third Resurrection of the Temple of Elemental Evil. With Burne's recommendation to investigate Nulb and Rufus' recommendation to investigate the Moathouse the group headed to the Inn for rest and food, as well as allowing time for party leader Mangoseed to decide on a coarse of action given of the information available.
Here shenanigans would ensue as Brog spotted the red-haired Half-Elf Ingrith and Verena spotted the barkeep Vesta Gundigoot. For the next few minutes the two would try to gain the courtship of the respective women, and both failing, Verena much more so than Brog, the two would retire up to their rooms as the unknown folk-hero Finn talked himself and his deeds up to Redithidoor Halfmoon the bard.
Waking up the next morning, the group would set out for the Moathouse.
