Djarin (De-zhar-ehn)

The Djarin are a proud group of human barbarians that opposed the expansion of the empire into the lands now known as Korribon. They chose to fight to the death rather than surrender and be condemned to slavery, with their king Delanor and his Marauders holding off the imperial army long enough for the women and children to escape. The Djarin are considered enemies of the state and are actively hunted by imperial forces. The only enclave of Djarin left are deep within the Exiled Wastes.    Djarin warriors are known for their distinctive mithril armor, which is as hard as tempered steel but light as leather. In battle they prefer two handed weapons, with the strongest warriors wielding mithril weapons which have been passed down for generations. Djarin warriors wear helmets that cover their entire face, and are forbidden from showing their face to any creature that is not part of Djarin tribe. They honed their fighting techniques over many centuries, hunting dragons in the mountains and keeping them from becoming too powerful. With their tribe scattered by the Imperials, Trogdor  (and possibly other dragons) have begun to wake and terrorize the continent.   The Djarin’s monopoly on mithril production often lead to conflict with the northern dwarves. The Djarin had successfully defended their mines for a millenia, and it is rumored that the dwarven leagues helped finance the empire’s conquest of Djarin lands.   The Djarin have been taken to mercenary work and raiding imperial border towns for supplies. They hope to amass enough wealth to hire an army that can help them retake Korriban and drive the empire from the north.   Recently, the Djarin accepted an uneasy truce with the white dragon Balthazar .  With The Child returned to the Djarin by the party, they now hunt for their lost king Delanor to rally their scattered tribes and unite to take back Korribon.

Culture

Djarin warriors wear distinctive bucket helmets that obscure their facial features.  They are forbidden from showing their face to anyone who has not been initiated into the tribe.

Public Agenda

The Djarin strive to push the empire out of Korribon and reclaim their anecstral lands.  They believe the key to taking back Korribon is finding their lost king Delanor and uniting the various bands of Djarins scattered across the northern province.   The Djarin also recognize Trogdor and other dragons as a threat, and realize that dragons may be a larger threat to their way of life than the empire.

Assets

The strongest Djarin warriors fight with mithril weapons and armor that have been handed down from generation to generation.  Each weapon or armor set is a piece of art, with etchings reflecting the history and triumphs of each owner.
