Gifted to Axel Webb by Chiaroscuro's secretary, Sal Friday, to keep him safe while out in the city with the detective, the rhombocrystal is said to attract the affection of Lady Luck, known, in gnomish tradition, as Nivi Rhombodazzle.
This multi-sided jewel-like lens slowly changes colours over time and is carried by Axel on a chain, where it glows with the psychic resonance of its attunement to his occult aura. It is used as his Divination Implement, due to its association with prediction and fortune.
Properties
The refracting crystals act as a magifying glass, grating a +5 competence bonus on Appraise checks involving gems and crystals. To those who rely on fortune and chance, the rhombocrystal, with its alignment to the gnomish deity of gamblers, also grants a +1 luck bonus on Reflex saving throws.
