Bongani
Situated west of Qahir and extending beyond the Bronze Peaks, the Bongani region is renowned for its vibrant flora, expansive lakes, and dense jungles. Transitioning from savannah in the east to marshlands in the north and jungles in the south, Bongani lacks centralized rule, with smaller settlements like villages, druid circles, and research camps scattered throughout. Whispers allude to a potential ruling entity in the southern reaches of Bongani, shrouded in mystery.
Geography
The eastern part of Bongani features a savannah that gradually transforms into marshlands and jungles as one ventures westward. Kestor's Past maintains outposts in the savannah, but the majority of Bongani operates without a dominant authority. Smaller communities and research outposts contribute to the diverse landscape, showcasing the coexistence of various civilizations.
Localized Phenomena
Lake Abyara: This large freshwater lake, the larger of Bongani's two lakes, is located closest to Qahir. Inhabitants of Bongani heavily rely on the streams flowing from Lake Abyara, and several attempts have been made to establish settlements within the lake itself, notably by a group of daring Axolotls. While the lake is a vital source of life, it is infamous for the formidable fish residing within, which has thwarted attempts to establish large settlements within its depths.
Climate
Bongani experiences a humid climate, with temperature and rainfall variations based on the westward distance. Consistent precipitation throughout the year supports lush vegetation and diverse ecosystems. In contrast, the savannah near Qahir tends to be considerably drier. The region's climatic diversity contributes to its unique flora and fauna.
