The Σu'ryxian Civil War
Two countries both alike in dignity...
The Σu'ryxian Civil War is an ongoing conflict in Western Σu'ryxia between The Everen Empire and The Estrialist Rebellion. The war began on the 17th Tětramís 518 AXR when Emperor Barontyne of Everen declared war on King Cydranon of Eld'rinoth after Eld'rian soldiers as a part of the newly formed Estrialist Rebellion took back an Everean outpost near the Elven town of L'avanora, which the Empire had invaded 3 months prior.
Immediately, both sides, reeling from a 10 year stalemate over the land near The Western Spine, advanced their armies over the mountains to try and take their enemy's capital to bring the war to a quick end, though neither side was successful. Cornered in by The Forgotten Wealds, The Golden Shores and Eld'rinoth itself, Barontyne instead decided to focus on advancing his troops over the Kingdom Pass early on in the war, to try and invade Calanthe and gain a vantage point against Cydranon to put pressure on the Estrialist Armies. Again, Barontyne was unsuccessful and instead, caused King Strividn of Calanthe to join the Rebellion against the Empire in 520 AXR.
Later, the Empire altered its tactics and started to instead invade cities within The Forgotten Wealds in an attempt to storm Eld'rinoth south of The Western Spine, and so far, Barontyne has managed to take cities as far down south as Ablefell. Although the conflict has now reached a standstill and both sides have been dormant for a number of years, there are rumours arising that Everen is planning one final attack to win the West for itself once and for all.
"I mean, it's pointless, what these lads are dying for. Why fight a war that makes the rich'uns richer and people like us closer to the grave?"
