Arcane Virtuosos and Aesthetic Trendsetters

Most cultures of high elves are graceful warriors and wizards with fey origins and close heritage to wood elves. Whereas wood elves live almost exclusively in forested regions of the world, high elves have taken to a variety of different terrains; they are often known as the elves of plains and valleys. They are fascinated by astronomy, religion, and the arcane arts, and have evolved into more organized civilizations. Their long life spans has led to very open pursuit of the arts, developing forms of high culture and more liberal societies.

High Elf Ethnicities

Moon elves constitute the vast majority of high elves. They have alabaster skin, which is sometimes tinged blue. Their hair is typically silver-white, blonde, brown, or black. They have blue or green eyes flecked with gold.
Sun elves are an ethnicity native to the deserts of Malidor. Their skin is bronze or brown. They have white, black, or dark brown hair, and their eyes are usually gold, amber, silver, or black.
Star elves are a rarer ethnicity, dwelling only in the far northern reaches of Vidrea. Their skin glows in the moonlight and can be a variety of cool colors—pale, blue, purple, or pink—with lighter freckles or markings. They have white opalescent hair, and their eyes are typically blue, pink, or violet.
Blood elves are an unusual ethnicity hailing from the forests of Illandira. Their skin is always hues of red, and their hair is exclusively white or black. Their eyes can be white, grey, red, or black. Blood elves also tend to be a few inches taller than the average high elf.

High Elf Traits

As a high elf, you have a keen mind and a mastery of at least the basics of magic. Your high elf has the following racial traits in addition to those it carries as an elf.
Ability Score Increase. Your Intelligence score increases by 1.
Elf Weapon Training. You have proficiency with the longsword, shortsword, shortbow, and longbow.
Cantrip. You know one cantrip of your choice from the wizard spell list. Intelligence is your spellcasting ability for it.
Extra Language. You can speak, read, and write one extra language of your choice.
