Anvil

Length of Day: 50 hours   Length of a Year: 435 days   Gravity: 1.7 Gs   Moons: 0   Average Temperature: 3 - 48 degrees F   Water Coverage: 11%   Population: ~8,000,240,000   Terrain: Anvil, unlike it’s predecessor Tortilia, has been more accessible to the galactic community as a whole information wise, though knowledge of the planet’s more complex features are yet hidden from the public. Great sheets of hard rock and naturally occurring metal coat the majority of Anvil’s surface, with especially hardy massive trees occasionally pushing through the hard out layer in groups to form forests of massively oversized trees. This can fragment whole sheets of rock, creating vast gravel fields amongst the roots. Additionally, very little of the planet’s surface consists of water, oceans instead being almost entirely located beneath the crust. Holes plummeting potentially miles down into underground pools to oceans are fairly common.   Culture: Following, of course, after it’s owning organization of which it is the capital, Anvil is very strictly authortian and dictatorial, though they do not like to present themselves as such. Because of this, much of the planet’s population survive in sprawling slums of poverty, only aided by their government long enough to collect taxes. Governmental buildings, compounds, and military facilities are almost always tall, massive, bleak, and imposing, possessing huge walls to prevent them being overrun by cretins. As expected, the people of Anvil are not especially fond of their overlords, though not quite as much as could be assumed due to their lack of exposure to the outside galaxy and what could be for them.     Military: Citadels dot the planet’s surface, housing thousands if not millions of stoic soldiers. This is for defensive purposes, but also has the darker motivation of excessive displays of force, promising to the population that if they revolt they will be crushed unmercifully. Much knowledge about the military and defensive capabilities of Anvil are kept secret from the public, but as the last Tortilian capital was destroyed by orbital bombardment, it can be reasonably assumed that advancements have been made to make the possibility of this happening again far less likely.
