Echoseekers

"Commensurate explorers and procurers of fine lore. There's few people with a nose for treasure like those of this clan." - from the annals of time.

Structure

Those who have been accepted into the Rock Gnome family can be considered an Echoseeker. Of course, you would either need to be born, adopted, or married to make that happen. Within the organization, seniority is king. The highest individual on the family tree is in charge.

Assets

The Echoseekers have detailed knowledge of the Spider Lands underdarks. All of this information is memorized and never written down. To help with this, the Echoseekers invent songs, mnemonic devices, and mind palaces in order to store all of the information. Of course, much of their maps are no longer accurate as the Underdark collapsed during the battle with the Rumble King, exposing them to the sky.    They also have the Echoseeker Manor in the Undercropolis.   Galphi "not-too-much" Echoseeker also possesses the family's greatest treasure, they Sword of Ages, a stone sword and gift from Garl Glittergold centuries ago. It grants the wielder paladinship. Though Galphi "not-too-much" Echoseeker was later given paladinship of life by Babaduke "Gembo" Gemkind, the god of life. This helped to alleviate the loss the Echoseekers felt during the collapse of the underdark.

History

Historically, the Echoseekers were the second most powerful clan in the Undercropolis, under Mithrilclaws and above the Gemkinds. However, they fell to third after the collapse of the underdark when most of their maps became obsolete. Even Babaduke "Gembo" Gemkind's gift of paladanship to Galphi "not-too-much" Echoseeker wasn't enough to restore their former standing.
