Baon

Apostle of Transition
"It may be small, but with it, you will change everything, Fastid... hold it close."
Baon, also known as the Betrayer by worshippers of other Apostles and the Sky Mirror by the cultists of Yuanlin, was one of the four Apostles of Ammayn in Reckoning. She represented proactive transitional change and presided over the primordial season of summer before the deification of the Divine Beasts created new seasons. She was always extremely mercurial, and is one of two surviving Apostles post-Reckoning. She wandered often and for mysterious reasons, though in present day Aypavoc she has settled in the remote mountain ranges of Yuanlin.

Profile

Baon's preferred appearance was that of a tall, slender woman. She bore the scales and horns of a dragon and the ears and claws of a stoat. She has one purple and one white eye. Dressing lightly yet ceremonially, her robes were adorned with symbols of the moon and woven strands of erica. Even in disguise, she always wore the amulet of an ouroboros.   Baon embodied the bolder, yet still self-chosen kind of transitional change that creatures undertake when they are forced to take unfamiliar courses of action to avoid a worse fate.   Her attitude seemed to be influenced by the phases of the moon and represented the duality of the outcomes of her change, equal chances fortune and misfortune, outgoing and timid, aggressive and meek.   Her siblings described her as lonely and forlorn. Baon envied mortals for their brief lifespans fraught with adaptation and love. To Baon, the existence of gods was a tragic mistake- but she never spoke out against the ideal of change in the presence of other Apostles, plotting instead in the summer shadows. After the Reckoning brought about the destruction of most living beings, she sorrowfully withdrew from meddling in mortal affairs.   In ancient times, Baon visited the earth and coupled with a man of Nvaon, creating the Lethe bloodline.   Near the time of Reckoning, she interfered once more in mortal affairs, providing guidance to Ash Lethe, who eventually killed her and took her place among the stars. However, he saw little need to make the world aware of this transition, generally adopting the same form and mannerisms as her in his desire to be left alone, though he also meddled in the affairs of the Reckoning in a desire to see divinity undone and achieve ultimate peace.

Notes

Baon willingly gave her blood to Fastid in order to set in motion the events of the Reckoning, and he is its sole wielder.
