Divine Beasts

Post-Reckoning
The Divine Beasts or the Six are beings that are deified by the people who inhabit Aypavoc. The seasons, seeds of Confliction, and kingdoms have all been attributed to them. It is impossible to deny their influence upon the world.   Due to their attempts to erase history, very little is known about them, leaving much to myth and speculation.   The heart of each Divine Beast is known as their Emblem. So long as the Emblem persists, they cannot die and are immortal. The Emblem can only be shattered through an instrument of the Apostles- magic cast by one with their blood, or a weapon crafted from the bones of someone who had their blood.   Their tarot card is the World, meaning fulfillment; harmony; completion and, if reversed, incompletion; no closure.

Beseeching the Gods

Devout human worshippers congregate around shrines and sacred objects. Specific cultural practices can be found under each kingdom's page.   Offerings can consist of food, salt, wine, incense, treasured trinkets, and the following: teeth, blood, and rubies for Consecra ; parchment, glass, and purified sand for Fastid ; keys, branches, and flowers for Eldnyng ; feathers, windchimes, and sapphires for Varys; claws, secrets, and coin for Metus ; and flesh, bone, and silver for Irev.   Priests may give people earthenware bells in the shape of their god in exchange for their prayer, that the devout may ring for the gods to hear their wishes. Otherwise, people may inscribe their wishes on wooden plaques and leave them at shrines.   Sacred arrows are dipped in blessed rainwater and offered to those who wish to slay the impure without inviting impurity in their own soul.   For the origins of the Divine Beasts, see Reckoning.   Humans and many other animals inherit the sins of the Divine Beast they were born under, and immorality can warp their form and make it more monstrous. See Magic & Biology for more information about Confliction.
