Bloodfist Tribe
The Bloodfist Tribe was a goliath tribe located in Tarteria during the late Third Age. As a result of events during the Great War, the tribe was destroyed and any survivors disbanded.
Description
The Bloodfist Tribe was a goliath tribe active in the regions surrounding the Fire Spire Sands of western Tarteria. The full extent of the tribe's range is not known, however the size of the tribe was large enough that it was able to resist immediate destruction during the onset of the Great War at the end of the Third Age. As the armies expanded across Tarteria, the tribe's territory and numbers were quickly reduced against the armies of demons and beastfolk. The goliaths fought on even as their resources were lost and cut off. Their weapons and armaments were broken and spent, and with no ability to gain more from raiding and tribute, the goliaths were forced to engage the demons while unarmed. The tribe's territory was restricted over the next decades farther and farther into the foothills on the southern slopes of the Khushuut Mountains. Though most of the tribe were ineffective without replacement weaponry, some were able to distinguish themselves in this style of combat, such as Karda Bloodfist Skullripper. Due to their resistance, they earned the attention of the demonic generals enough that a larger dedicated force was sent to eliminate them. The tribe retreated into the dangerous and harsh passes of the Khushuut Mountains where they made their last stand. The icy and hostile terrain allowed the goliaths to hold out for a further few months, even as their remaining numbers were slowly killed by the continued demonic assaults. When only a final few goliaths remained, Karda Bloodfist Skullriper was cornered. She punched the stone ridge of the mountain pass, shattering the stone and causing an avalanche of ice and rock to cascade down the mountain. As the pass was filled with mountain debris, many demons were vanquished and Karda was killed in the rockslide. Though the tribe was lost, the final fate of the few, if any, survivors is unknown. In surviving records of the Great War, there are no further mentions of the Bloodfist Tribe.Notable People
- Karda Bloodfist Skullripper: Karda was a goliath of the tribe born after the onset of the Great War. Karda became reknowned in the tribe for ripping demons' heads from their bodies with her bare hands.
Legacy
It is possible that the Fifth Age goliath tribe in this region, the Stoneshatter Tribe, has some ancestral connections to the Bloodfist Tribe. The Stoneshatter Tribe's name may have a connection to Karda's sacrificial act. Additionally, the tribe has a tradition when a goliath reaches adulthood, they must venture northwards into the Khushuut Mountains to earn their tribe's namesake of "Stoneshatter".History
The Third Age: The Age of Zenethia
In the late Third Age, the Bloodfist Tribe of goliaths was active around the Fire Spire Sands region of Tarteria. After the onset of the Great War, the tribe battled against the armies of demons and beastfolk, gradually losing territory over the opening decades of the war. After retreating into the Khushuut Mountains, a larger force of demons was sent to eliminate the tribe. The goliaths held out for months until on of the last survivors, Karda Bloodfist Skullripper, caused an avalanche to kill many of the demons and herself. Though the tribe was lost, the final fate of the few, if any, survivors is unknown.
