Zenethian Greatsword

The Zenethian Greatsword, also known as Johanna's Bane, is one of the divine Zenethian Items created by Zenthai, The Dragon King, during the reforging of these items in the Fourth Age.

Description

The greatsword is described as a spiked and sloping blade that houses a red crystal in golden filligry. The pommel is green and gold and the crossguard is emerald Dragonwings.
It is said the Zenethian Greatsword gave Johanna, Shieldmaiden of Endor, the ability to cut down evil magics with ease and turn this power into added destruction caused by this hefty blade.

History

The Fourth Age: The Age of Shadow

Reforged

In 4A 996, the Zenethian Heroes collected all the lost Zenethian Items. As Zenthai prepared to reforge these items, he asked the allies of the Zenethian Children for their weapons as well. From Johanna he asked for her sword. With Zenthai's blessing, the original relics were reforged and crafted into new and powerful forms.

The Fifth Age: The Age of Beginnings

After the conclusions of the Tarterian War and the Manslayer War, Johanna returned to Endor, the First Mountain. Here, Johanna spent many years in service to High King Thorik Oathenhammer. In honor of her service to the High King and to Azimuth, when Johanna asked the High King to protect this weapon, he vowed to do so. After Johanna's death, a great tomb was constructed in the Mausoleum of Dwarf Lords and the Zenethian Greatsword was buried with her. It is said the enchantments on the tomb will allow only a direct descendant of Johanna's bloodline to access it.
