Agaden's Reach
Current Month: Julwar 2nd: 209, The Fifth Age
Agaden's Reach is a nation that existed in the Fourth Age. After the Second Fall, its survivors migrated to the Western Highlands and formed the new kingdom of the Aurumfels.
Originally it comprised of three separate city-states; the city of Charm, which became its capital, the city of Carmile , which provided the bulk of the military might for the new nation, and Gilboa, which acted as a commercial center.
History
The Nation was short lived, having only came into existance twenty years before the second fall. The prince of Charm Ulric Benjamin, and the princess of Gilboa, Ulra Sinon, formed an arranged marriage that turned into genuine love. The original purpose of this marriage was to form a military alliance in order to dominate the city of Carmile into submission. it succeeded, and a new but small nation was formed.
The new nation was small, so the now Queen Ulra, who was the dominant of the two rulers, decreed that Charm was a magical sanctuary, and that all who practiuced the arts were welcome.
This influx of magical power gave Agadens Reach a much needed advantage over their neighbors that helped discourage invasion. As well, the religion of the Tusk, also called the Reformists or the Revanchists, was founded in Charm, which granted the nation a religious shield, as well as magical.
The king and queen of the new nation gave birth to two daughters at this time; the elder princess Elizabeth, and the younger princess Alette.
They waged war against their southern neighbors the Noldor Princedom often, even capturing the city of Caer Selemon, which in actuality was the Noldor's Darkships.
The religious war, the Holy Ordeal, was also called together in Charm to curry battle against the Traditionalist Nations of the world, many thousands of reformist warriors gathered in Charm for the coming crusade.
However, the nation's fortunes shifted with the coming of the Knights of Harmony and The Mandate. They helped save the queen's daughter Elizabeth, and convinced them to sign a truce with the Noldor after they helped them fight off a Sunderfall invasion. At the First Battle of Refuge, the Mandate called for the aid of Agaden's Reach, and the queen obliged, however, she demanded answers.
It was on the slopes of the mountain of Refuge where Ulra spoke of the secretive nature of the Mandate, a military force on her nations doorstep, and demanded to know their intentions. This location in The Fifth Age is now a neighborhood called Ulra's Speech.
The Oracle of Harmony at the time then descended the mountain, and during Ulra's speech, sacrificed her being, and caused the Awakening. Ulra, and her entire army in Refuge, City of Mists and most of the Knights of the Eventide, became Twin Souleds, able to see into their past lives.
From then on, Agaden's Reach was a Mandate stronghold. As a consequence of the Oracle's sacrifice, Alette, the queen's younger daughter, took up the mantle of Oracle. She has remained the Oracle of Harmony to this day, and is over 200 years old.
After a raid by the Consult into Charm, the Knights of Harmony and several hundred Agadenian soldiers invaded their Sanctuary, defeating the consult, but also triggering the final events of The Second Fall.
After the Second Fall was done, the survivors traveled west, and founded The Aurumfels.
