Julius Creel

Character page by Nora Van Es

Mental characteristics

Personal history

Raised single-handedly by his mother, it came as quite the surprise for Julius to find out that his biological father lived in the next town over. Having witnessed the deterioration of Salanas, Julius became determined to make a change for the better in his life.

Education

Aspiring to improve his hometown, Julius started studying Urban Planning and Politics at the University of Bathalafrom September 2017, commuting there from his home in Salanas in order to stay close to his mother.

Accomplishments & Achievements

Won at laser-tag against Rue.

Mental Trauma

In February 2017, Julius was meant to visit his father to spend the day together in Bathala. Unfortunately, something came up at work, so his father introduced him  to one of his employees, a teenager named Rue, and told them to spend the day together instead. Though most of the day was a surprisingly enjoyable experience, things took a turn when a car pulled up beside them and the pair were ushered in at gunpoint.     They were taken to a hideout in the Seafaring District, where Rue momentarily managed to get the advantage by stealing a gun from one of the men until a stranger in a heart-shaped mask ordered them to put it down. The villain kept the pair of them hostage, though at one point he did offer a job to Rue, until an explosion caused enough of a distraction for Julius and Rue to run away to safety.

Personality Characteristics

Likes & Dislikes

Julius enjoys the simple things in life - good food, a thrilling film/TV show, or a stunning rooftop view to savour whilst trespassing on a construction site or at an abandoned building.   He likes the superheroes that have become more and more of a common sight as he grew up, admiring their desire to help make the cities they live in a better place (though he does wish there would be more of a hero presence in Salanas).

Social

Family Ties

Julius’ mother raised him on her own for most of his life. It wasn’t until he was in his late teens that he got to meet his father, Aloysius Creel, for the first time. Their bond was a little awkward at the best of times, but things took a turn after Julius was held hostage to be used as a bargaining chip against his father. When Julius later discovered the true nature of his father’s work, things got complicated further.
