Meeav (MEY-ahv)

This mountainous island in The Whelming Gulf north of Adarinn is home to the most prestigious university in all the world: The Collegium. Its high, limestone and granite, the Sauraine Peaks, are honeycombed with cave-systems which house the enormous libraries, classrooms, living spaces, and magical practice spaces that make up the Collegium's many facilities. Dedicated long before the Collegium's foundation to the god of knowledge, Meeav has been a repository for information both magical and mundane for thousands of years. It is here, some say, that The Harbinger began weaving the tapestry which foretold the arrival of the Heroes. More credibly, even early proto-civilizations seem to have known that something about the island preserved knowledge. In the driest and most remote caves at the peaks of Meeav's mountains, there are cave paintings which predate modern language entirely, and which record some of what it must have been like to live during the Age of Gods. These archeological treasures are just a few of the many, many pieces of unique knowledge which reside on the island.
