Ryan Wolfbane
Warrior, follower of Sybeile and bane of the undead and unworldly.
Ryan Wolfbane spent his younger years as part of an adventuring band led by his cousin Alexander Lightsword. After parting ways with his comrades-in-arms, he took it upon himself to look after Jonathan Gangre, who had tragically come under the care of the group as a babe several years earlier. Recognizing that he lacked the necessary social status and skills to accompany Jonathan into a respectable adulthood on his own, he sought entrance for the boy at an Academy which promised to train him and give him the skills necessary to embark on a fullfilling life. After a number of years in the Academy, Jonathan disappeared unexpectedly and Ryan began scouring the land searching for him. Forced to sell his skills as a warrior to villages and merchants along the way, Ryan had all but given up hope of finding his ward when new information provided him with fresh clues to follow and renewed motivation. He's currently employed as protection for a travelling circus (or other) while searching for an explanation as to why Jonathan disappeared and what has become of him.
His devotion to the forgotten and fading goddess Sybeile, The Flawed Mother is second to his devotion to his few friends and family. Indeed, he considers dedication to loved one's to be the ultimate tribute to the Flawed Mother, who sacrificed herself in the hopes of saving her children.
Physical Description
General Physical Condition
While still a capable and skillfull fighter, feats of strength and agility that once came with ease now promise pains and stiffness in aging joints the following day. Other signs of age such as thinning hair, lines on his face and hard, cracked hands are evident.
Having let himself go over the past couple of years, Ryan's chain shirt fits a bit tighter and his breath is a bit shorter on long runs. Shaking off his recent laziness, he has taken up to training more regularly and the results are just beginning to show.

Morality & Philosophy
Ryan is one of the few followers of Sybeile. As such, he considers it his obligation serve others, believes personal attachments in any form are the greatest blessing bestowed upon mortals and is at peace with his own mortality as it is an inevitable and necessary part of Sybeile's own demise. As an extension of that, he believes that the undead and those who serve them are blasphemous beings whose very existence is torment for his goddess and should be ruthlessly purged. In this particular age where the Dark rules supreme, he can easily justify his hate of the Darkness and his alliance with the Light because of the currents in his belief system which promote balance between the two forces as well as the Darkness' affiliation with the unworldly being he considers abominations.
His religious beliefs and his mother's influence when he was young led him to consider that the true goodness of a man was determined by his own conscience and not by the approval of others or authorities. Modelling himself after his goddess, he also believes that good intentions can justify a bad act so long as one is prepared to face and accept whatever consequences may follow.
