Kröþic

Kröþic is a language of uncertain status spoken by the inhabitants of northern Kröþa in the eastern Southlands. It has certain features not found in Þrínic, the official language of the country from which it diverged, due to influences from both Öþranic and þelic as well as the relative isolation of the speakers from the rest of Kröþa, particularly those found further inland in the Kvaral Marsh.
The most notable differences are that the emphasis is usually on the last syllable unless the word is particularly long, in which case the first syllable is emphasized as well, and the pronunciation of certain sounds, such as þrínic /r/, /k^hr/, /k^hv~k^hu/ and /œ/ becoming /ɾ/, /ɾ̥/, /ʋ/ and /ə/, respectively. The use of /ə/ is an öþranic influence, while /ɾ/ originally comes from þelic but has since been supplanted by /r/.
The government and vast majority of older Kröþans consider it a mere local variation of þrínic, officially referred to as kröþan northern dialect, and have long discouraged its use in schools and media, while kröþic speakers treat is a a separate language, with many wishing it to be elevated to an official language alongside þrínic. In recent decades, the younger þrínic-speaking generation has started advocating for this as well, and it has become fashionable among them to adopt or least imitate kröþic accent, much to their elders' dismay.
