Nomþó
Þamtic: Nomþó /nɔːmθouː/
Þiðic: Nogðó /nɔːɣðouː/
Nogðó is a city in northeastern New Þamta in the eastern Southlands, and capital of the autonomous region of Þidírar, home of the elven Þiðans who who founded it as the center of the colony of Anþ'ei in the 350s BF, a little later than the neighbouring Þamtans. Following Anþ'ei's independence from Þ'iþí, the city was variously controlled by the þiðans themselves or occupied by the neigbouring powers of Kröþa to the south on one hand and New Þamta on the other, until becoming part of the lattermost as the capital of the province of Þidírar.
Following the destruction of their old country of Þ'iþí and subsequent waves of þiðans emigrating from Jælondis during and after the Fell Wars some four decades ago, the city is now the center of þiðan culture and a major producer of crimson glory wine.
The current mayor of Nomþó is Ónþójó Nogðófei.

Architecture
Only two building in Nomþó date back to the colonial era, both of which are typical for that era, being constructed out of local stone, thatch, rammed earth, driftwood and imported timber, as most of the native southlandic trees are unsuitable as building materials. Later structures incorporate more timber as oaks and other fauna and flora from Jælondis were introduced to the region, though stone has always remained the material of choice.
Window- and door frames are usually brightly painted with floral motifs.
Traditionally, each home has a garden where residents can perform rituals at a sacred tree, whose spirit (if'a or jif'a) supposedly protects the house in exchange, though since the Fell Wars, this custom has declined in favour of sacred groves where the whole community comes to worship at certain times of year. Older apartment buildings often have a smaller shared grove as well.Gaf'a Hjagofei ó Nogðófei: Current governor of Þidírar, born in the town of Hjago.
Vave Þirmon: TV actress, mother of the actor Vef Þirmon.
Fvóþon Hjin-Þagðjafei ó Nogðófei: Þiðan nationalist, writer and poet, son of the actor Vef Þirmon.
