New Þamta1 is one of the main countries on the Þöton Peninsula, a region in the eastern Southlands, and one of the most powerful elven countries on the continent along with Fjún to the northwest. Originally a colony of Þamta, it encompasses the northern coast of the peninsula as well as Íhin Island to the northwest, borders its old rival Kröþa to the south, and the country's capital is the city of New Tamþías to the north.
The current president of New Þamta is Ril Azóðon.
Besides Þamtans, New Þamta is home to a number of different elven ethnic groups from northern and central Jútrilía as well as Þjaris, most of whom fled there over the last forty years to escape the destruction of southwestern Jælondis during and after the Fell Wars.
Ljanþep Co., one of Borgalor's largest pharmaceutical companies, is headquartered in New Þamta.
Danþón encompasses Íhin Island to the northwest, which was originally a separate þamtan colony centered on the city of New Ejar to the south before forming a military alliance against Kröþa, and eventually merged with New Þamta. The lowlands are the main agricultural region of the country, and the highlands a source of magic crystals and other minerals.
Hirílkep covers the central part of mainland New Þamta, centered around the capital of New Tamþías. Part of the province extends into Kvaral Marsh, which has been set aside for traditional arctolatrists to temporarily live out in the wild as part of their initiation ritual, during which they must rely on their strength, wits and arcane abilities to survive.
Úvaþón covers western mainland part of the country, centered around the city of Þóla. The region is known for its cuisine, particularly fish pies- and soups, and many national dishes of the country originated there.
Þidírar is an autonomous region covering the eastern part of mainland New Þamta, home of the elven Þiðans centered around the city of Nomþó. It encompasses what was originally the þiðan colony of Anþ'ei, which was variously independent or controlled by either Kröþa or New Þamta over the centuries until the lattermost gained full control of it, but gained autonomy after the Fell Wars to prevent a full-scale rebellion by the locals.
