Southlandic Elves
Southlandic elves are the main branch of Austral Elves, one of the three groups that makes up the elven population in Borgalor, and includes the different societies that have made their home in the antarctic coastal regions of the Southlands, particularly Rúþría and the Þöton Peninsula. Some of these, most notably Fjúnans and New Þamtans, have diverged sufficiently as cultures to be considered separate ethnic groups from their relatives in distant Jælondis on the northern hemisphere, while others are relative newcomers who lost their homes in the terrible Fell Wars four decades ago, notably Avóðans, Maþúlans and Þiðans.
While the latter still claim the lost territories in southwestern Jælondis, now a desolate region as a result of necromancy, progress at eliminating the undead horde and rebuild there has been slow at best, even with the help of international organizations.
The vast majority of southlandic elves hail from Jútrilía in western and southwestern Jælondis as well as parts of Maralon Steppe and Fúmsis Savanna, along with a small but growing population of Þjaric Elves seeking new opportunities since their countries opened up to the outside world following the war, after centuries of isolation. Tinier still are scattered communities of the second largest branch of austral elves, namely the örkrazic ones).
