Amethyst Dragons

Amethyst dragons are generally considered to be the mightiest of the gem dragons, though one should always remember that dragons like humanoids are individuals - not all elves are dainty and some dwarves are tall(ish). Amethyst dragons are generally facinated by the workings of the universes, particularily the Outer Planes (see Wheel Cosmology). They have a great innate psionic power that lets them alter how the laws of physics apply to them - for instance allowing them to fly without wings (they do still use their wings, but could fly without them) - and can use this to their advantage in combat, for instance powering their breath weapon with gravity. Mind Flayers and other abberation are the natural enemies of Amethyst Dragons. The intrusions of the Far Realm into the Material Plane are viewed as corruption, and most such invasions are stopped by Amethyst Dragons. Amethyst dragons generally hoard thing related to knowledge and magic, and are especially fond of treasures from different worlds.
