The Fallen City
The Fallen City was once a city that consisted only of monasteries, cathedrals, and churches. One day, in 29 BTS, the city collapsed and sunk into the ground, as if devoured by the land. Waterdeep has disregarded the incident as a natural catastrophe. If the catastrophe was indeed natural was unclear.
The few residents that were left in the city, consisted almost exclusively of runners and climbers, because of the steep terrain and infrequent, but occurring land slides. Not even thugs or thieves dared to climb down the ruins of the city. Yes, they could've looted some places and temples, but the risk of falling into the gargantuan cracks of the city, or not being able to have gotten out alive was not worth the risk. It was said, though, that to that day there lived elders in the city that watched over it. The deeper you went down the cracks of the city, the more ancient and overgrown the temples became. That, of course, were just myths and legends.
A few lost souls still linger in the old temples of the city today, under them, Master Fontaine. He trained Feng to be able to survive in harsh environments like that of the fallen city. He showed him how to climb and run.
