Corelian League

The Corelian League is an Alliance of City-States formed in the wake of the Taurian Wars. It occupies hundreds of Islands on the Southern Sapphire Sea, and its formal capital is the city of Corelia. The Corelian League was formed by cities who resented Heliopolis control over the Northern League, but were still concerned about Taurian expansion and felt the need to band together for protection. Also called the Southern League, the Corelian league has a stronger navy and greater control of the sea than the Helenian Cities, however, they lack the sheer numbers of the Helenians, and the quality and training of the martial--oriented Taurians

Structure

Corelian League is ruled by a council formed by the Kings, Tyrants, Dictators and elected officers of the cities under its domain. However, this council has virtually no power during times of peace, except to proclaim edicts about the acceptance of new members into the league and other obligations. During peacetime, each city within the Corelian League is free to rule itself however it sees fit. In times of war, However, the league's Founding Treaty predicts the formation of a War-Council composed of 5 generals under a League-Marshal. For the duration of the conflict, these six men will have near absolute control over the armies and resources of league members, to ensure a cohesive war-effort.
